Football is Back!

With the Alberta Stage 2 Relanch, sport teams are now alowed to resume activitiy.  This does not mean that it is business as usual.   There are  two options for us during the in the Stage 2 Alberta Relaunch,  teams can practice as usuall (with additional cleaning and screening) or divide into smaller groups of less than 15 per "team" and would then be able to compete in a six man version of the game with two other 6 man "teams".  That 6 man team could compete against another 6 man squad from the same club, or possibly another clubs 6 man team.  The idea is to limit contact to a 50 person cohort.   To see more  details of the Football Alberta Re-opening plan go to the Football Alberta website or view the return to play document here

Football Alberta has also lifted the July ban on football activity for clubs since we have been shut down during May and June, traditionally the time spring camps are run.   

So what does this mean for the Mustangs?  We are not sure of how this season will look, but we will be starting activity in early August at the latest, perhaps starting in July.  We are hopefull for Stage 3 in the Alberta relaunch, that would return us to more normal competition and want to be ready for that when it happens.  We are looking into the possibility of starting up in July, but that will depend on field, coach and player availability.  We hope to also be getting more information soon from the league on how things will look for the 2020 season.  

So for now, we can't say exactly how this season will play out, but there will be football activity this season.   You can register for the 2020 season here on our website.   As a club our goal is to make the year a positive football experience, no matter how the season turns out.  

 

 

Registration Now open

Registration for the 2020 fall season is now open.   With tough economic times brought on by by the COVID-19 pandemic, registration fees have been reduced from 2019 levels by $100.  Registration will be split into two payments, the first payment of $75.00 due at registration is non-refundable, the remaining $300 will be billed to your credit card on June 15.   If the COVID situation causes a cancellation of the season a full refund will be issued.  For more information on registration click here
