Mustangs Spring Flag Football Registration Information

2026 Spring Flag Football Registrations are now closed. 

Registrations for 2026 Fall Tackle Football Season will open April 1, 2026 

In order to align with Football Canada and Football Alberta, the CDMFA will be utilizing age categories to allow for additional opportunities to play at provincial and national levels.  We will be taking registrations for the following age categories:

U10 - 5 vs 5 (ages 8 & 9) 

U12 - 5 vs 5 (ages 10 & 11)

U14 - 5 vs 5 (ages 12 & 13)

U16 - 5 vs 5 (ages 14 & 15)

Number and size of teams will be dependent upon the number of registrants and coaches. Based upon 2025 numbers we will be running a minimum of three teams at the U12, U14 and U16 levels  and one team at the U10 level. If registrations exceed these numbers we will review increasing the size of the team to maximum of 15 players or potentially adding additional teams.

Fees: SWEMFA 2026 Flag Football fees are $300.00 for each age division. The breakdown of fees is as follows

For 2026 we will be rebranding with our new logo and all players will be required to purchase a new flag uniform

If you choose to pay using Interac E-Transfer, please ensure to submit your full payment to payment@swemfa.com with 48 hours of registering or your registration will be canceled.

Indoor Training: Indoor training starts the first week of March at Harry Ainlay High School Main Gym on Sunday mornings (click here for location). Each age division will train as a group at a specified time. Additional training will take place at South Soccer Centre pending availability. 

Practices: Outdoor practices will generally start in April once the weather allows at Confederations Sports Fields.

Games: There will be a Flag Kickoff Festival weekend in April with regular season games being held on Saturdays from the 3rd weekend of April to end of May and a Wrap Up Tournament the 1st weekend in June (all dates TBD) at Edmonton Flag Football Association Fields 

Club Supplied Equipment: Jersey and shorts are included in the registration fees for athletes to keep. Flags and belts supplied by team.

Player Supplied Equipment: We do not supply mouthguards. We recommend players purchase a good quality mouthguard for their own protection. Players are required to supply their own football or similar cleats (no metal cleats). Running shoes are required for indoor training, but cleats will be required once we move outdoor and for all games. 

No experience is required and there are no cuts made. Registrations may be capped to maintain acceptable roster sizes.
