Due to the possible deterioration in air quality as a result of wildfires or other pollutants, the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) is being used as the guideline to for decision making by the CDMFA and SWEMFA as there is no legislated limits that prohibits outdoor activity. While club or league decision is being made based upon these guidelines, the parent shall be the ultimate decision maker in deciding whether they feel their youth athlete should participate in outdoor activities based upon their understanding and assessment of their youths risk factors and sensitivities to potential airborne pollutants. As a general rule, any participant with respiratory or heart conditions should reduce or avoid outdoor activities when the AQHI reaches 7 or more.
Practices Cancellations/Modifications
AHQI values will be evaluated up to the time of practice. Environment Canada maintains an online listing of AHQI values for Edmonton and the Surround Areas. For practices held at Confederation Park, the readings of the Lendrum Monitoring Station shall be considered.

Game cancellations are governed by CDMFA Policy. This policy is being updated for 2025 and will be added when the policy is finalized
