Team Trainers / First Aid Persons NEEDED

Athletic Trainers & First Aid Persons 

Due to the amazing increase in demand, we are right now planning to run 9 Flag Football teams over the U10, U12, U14 and U16 levels this season. CDMFA rules, polices and procedures require us to have First Aid Persons for all U10 & U12 teams and Athletic Trainers for all U14 & U16 teams.

All courses will be paid for by SWEMFA (either directly or by reimbursement)

 

CDMFA will be presenting courses to meet the First Aid and SMCA Athletic Trainer requirements 

Sport Trainer Certification Course inc. Taping Practical Course

Sport Trainer Course will be conducted by the Sport Medicine Council of Alberta specific for Football Athletic Trainers. This course requires a two-day certification that you will need to complete as follows:

  1. Day 1 - Lecture & Theory - Saturday February 22, 2025 @ Grant MacEwan Community College 9AM - 4PM
  2. Day 2 - Taping & Practical Course selection of dates (each date is a max of 18 participants) @ Sport Medicine Council of Alberta offices
    • February 23, 2025, 9AM - 4PM (max 16)
    • March 8, 2025, 9AM - 4PM (max 16)
    • March 9, 2025, 9AM - 4PM (max 16)

You will need to register for the Theory course and one of the Taping & Practical dates to finish your course requirements and receive your certification.

Standard First Aid Certification Courses

Standard First Aid with Level C - Online Theory &  1 Day Practical

 Course Information (Online portion to be completed before the Practical class):

  • The dates that are available for selection are:
    • Sunday February 23, 2025
    • Saturday March 1, 2025
    • Sunday March 2, 2025
  • Online Portion -  this will come from the Red Cross directly. Watch spam folders for this email notification:
    • Source: Red Cross 
    • Estimated Time: 3.5 to 4 hours
    • Completion Requirement: Must be finished before the in-person practical training.
